オオカマキリ ＆ エゾシロチョウ
日本を代表する大型のカマキリ。メスの大きい物は１００ｍｍをこえます。
林の近くの草地、郊外の雑木林周辺に多く生息しています。
雄が細く華奢なのに対し、雌は堂々とした立派な体格で卵を産むために腹部もふとく、どっしりしています。
そのため、成虫になってから雌はほとんど飛ばなくなります。
太りすぎて飛べなくなるらしいですが・・・
しかし『蟷螂の斧』というように、身の程を知らずに大きな相手にカマを振り上げる姿は生命感に溢れ、なんとも
言えない愛らしさを感じます。
