It is one of the grasshoppers distributed throughout Japan, also known as "Dimyeobata"

日本全国に分布しているバッタの1つで、別名『ダイミョウバッタ』
ピンとのびた背すじにたくましい太もも、まだら模様の羽根と大きな目がめ
だつ長い顔。
飛ぶ時は翅を大きく広げて飛び、地にどっかりと腰を下ろすように着地する。
その飛翔力はバッタ類の中でも群を抜いて強く、1回の飛翔で50ｍ～100ｍも飛びます。
まさにトノサマバッタという名がぴったり合う、堂々としたバッタです。
