It is an insect which inhabits tropical rainforests in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia and Malaysia.
 

This name sticks out from its strange appearance that resembles a violin with the perimeter of the wing protruding in a translucent curtain shape. (There is another name known as a fanfish)
 

Large beetle which is also 10 cm in length and 5 cm in width, but the thickness of the body is only about 5 mm and it is fluent. By doing this you can hide yourself in the gaps of the tree.
 

It seems that the wing is irregular and does not have the ability to fly, but it seems to be able to fly.
 

I do not know much about the ecology except that I live by eating mushrooms of the Sarunokoshike family and insects gathered there.

インドネシアやマレーシアといった東南アジアの熱帯雨林に生息する昆虫です。

翅の周囲が半透明の幕状に張り出しバイオリンに似たその奇妙な見た目からこの名が付いています。（団扇虫という別名もある）

体長が10cm、横幅5cmにもなる大型の甲虫、しかし体の厚さは5mm程度しかなくペラペラです。これにより木の隙間に身を潜ませることが出来ます。

翅が異形で飛行能力はないように見えますが、飛べるようです。

生態はサルノコシカケ科のキノコやそれに集まる虫を食べて生活している以外あまりわかっていません。

勘違いされやすそうですが、見た目やコオロギなどを思わせる色の所為で鳴く虫と勘違いされそうですが、鳴かないムシです。

今回は翅の裏側の眼状紋を表現しました。
